London & Paris were on my agenda as well. The Professor travelled to London and Cambridge University, as well as Paris. This was a mixture of Academic and Social.

AOM Boston
The Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management was well attended by about 10.000 individuals. 55 percent of which hailed from foreign countries. Large contingent from France and Germany. China usually has a large number of attendees, but this year took 2nd place behind Europe. Also noteworthy was the attendance by older Academy members, mostly American who have either returned to work in academia and a small amount electing to join the Academy as they returned to school to obtain or complete terminal degrees.

This is Sardinia. The highlight of this trip to Italy. Sardinia proved to be one of the nicest locations with a little of everything thrown in. Wonderful food, people, not to forget the Sea. Usually I would say ocean, but this was actually the Mediterranean Sea, near the base of the Italian boot. The grottos, the clear warm waters and the terrific food. So worth it!

As something of an Academic, it has been my pleasure to be a member of the Academy of Management (AOM) where I have served as membership Committee Chair and a volunteer with the Membership Committee and Careers Division. I am also a member of the Organization Development & Change and Management Consulting Divisions. This year, 2022 after a 2 years of online meetings because of Covid 19, I traveled to Seattle to AOM Annual Meeting.
Getting back to a face to face format was great! Surprisingly, we hit 10,000 meeting attendees with many International members from Germany, China, France, India & Pakistan, Russia, and the Ukraine among other countries.
The theme of the Annual Meeting for 2022 was Creating a Better World Together posing the questions: What, where, how, when, and why will business organizations, managers, and stakeholders seek to adapt to what exists or create a world in which we will all be better off together?
Next year 2023, the Annual meeting will be held in Boston with the theme being Putting the Worker Front and Center.
In 2022, the location for AOM was Seattle, WA. I was privileged to spend a few days with my colleague and buddy, Doc Rob and his wife on Mercer Island. What a beautiful spot! I have added a few picture highlights from that experience.
Pirate Invasion, 2022
This weekend, I have been invited to a variety of events around Los Angeles, the first I chose to attend was the 2022 Pirate Invasion at the park near the Queen Mary downtown Long Beach. The Pirates last invaded Long Beach in 2019 right before Covid hit. I was there then as well and what a fun time we had.
The 2022 invasion celebrated the return of the pirates to Long Beach and what an event that turned out to be, a time for old comrades to reminisce about the good old days of plundering and looting, not to mention drinking and carousing. Here are some pictures of our local pirates and privateers, even Captain Jack turned it! Enjoy!
